OUR PASSION IS WINE

As a family business we do not cultivate wine as a business – we live it. From morning till evening everything revolves around our vines. And during harvest time, the private interests of each family member must be at the back of the agenda. That’s just the way it is – and it wouldn’t be possible without a great deal of enthusiasm. When the work begins in the cellar, it becomes quieter. But no less exciting: How do the wines develop? Our big drops come in oak barrels, the best in small barriques. After all, our customers’ enjoyment of our wines is our greatest reward.

FROM EXPERIENCE WITH THE REGION

The Oberhofer winery focuses on regionally typical grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris or Chardonnay. These provide the best results on our floors – these are valuable empirical values. But the world is changing – and our valuable Palatinate terroir has great potential: interesting “new” varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, St. Laurent or Cabernet Sauvignon have enriched our range in recent years.

IN HARMONY WITH NATURE

The decision in favour of organic viticulture is of great importance. Those who do not use sprays and want to meet the strict requirements have to accept the burden of a lot of manual work, the risk of crop failure and a much lower yield. We’re happy to do that. Because in this way we harvest unpolluted grapes for better wine. And live and work with healthy soil and clean water: an invaluable asset for a responsible winegrower.
